Freeride November Newsletter

Dryland Training:

The Freeride Program has officially completed their first month of dryland training!  Each week we spent two days working on strength and conditioning and one day focusing on endurance.  New friendships were created, we’ve gotten stronger, our balance has improved, and there has been plenty of laughs (under the mask of course).

As our dryland training extends into November, we look forward to pushing our comfort levels even more with all training outside.  Please remember to dress for success for varied weather conditions (it’s always easy to cool down, but harder to warm up). Dryland ends November 18th.

Virtual Freeride Parent Meeting:

  • November 10th at 5:00-6pm we will host our Freeride Program / Parent meeting for both freeski and snowboard Shredder athletes.
  • November 12th at 5:00-6pm we will host our Freeride Program / Parent meeting for both freeski and snowboard Progression, Progression Plus, and Competition Team athletes.
We will send an electronic invite to the meetings shortly.  We will discuss our updated winter Covid-19 training schedule, introduce our lead coaches, and address questions.  We look forward to meeting you!

Coming soon:

  • Freeride Program Fit Night.  We are currently finalizing dates for all Freeride athletes to get personal gear expertise from the retail experts at Hole in the Wall snowboard shop and Hoback Sports ski shop.
  • Freeride Program Hoodie design is in the works by local artist Amy Dowell.  She is an amazing artist, more to come in the following weeks.
  • First day of on-snow training is Nov 28th for Progression, Progression Plus, and Competition Teams.
  • Thanksgiving – gobble gobble!  Enjoy a safe holiday.

Thank you to all the Freeride Program families and athletes this season thus far.  The tolerance for adversity and uncertainty has been impressive and I’m confident we can have a safe, fun, and productive winter ski and snowboard season.
