Academic Support

JHMS-JHSC Student-Athletes Illustrating Club Values

JHSC Ski Education Program

The JHSC Ski Education Program is off and running at JHMS! In our first meeting on Monday, November 6th, Executive Director Brian Krill kicked off the year with an introduction to the five JHSC club values and a discussion of the various types of 'Fun' in winter snow sports. In small groups, students discussed examples of 'challenging', 'easy', and 'people' fun and illustrated or acted out experiences of fun in training, races and competition, and team bonding activities. In our next session, Head U14 Alpine Coach Kevin Keane talked with student athletes about sportsmanship and how best to represent self, club, and community on and off the hill. We're excited for an upcoming series on 'How to be a Good Athlete', with topics including sports nutrition and injury prevention, as well as presentations by guest speakers in January and February. Thanks again to JHMS for hosting us in the Commons.
